Home of the Xen® Hypervisor

The Xen hypervisor offers a powerful, efficient and secure feature set for virtualization of x86, x86_64, IA64, ARM and other CPU architectures, and has been used to virtualize a wide range of guest operating systems, including Windows®, Linux®, Solaris® and various versions of the BSD operating systems. It is widely regarded as a strategically compelling alternative to proprietary virtualization platforms and hypervisors for x86 and IA64 platforms.

The Xen.org community currently develops the open source Xen Hypervisor as well as several other open source products:

  • Xen Cloud Platform - Xen Hypervisor Platform for Cloud Computing
  • Xen ARM - Xen Hypervisor for ARM CPUs
  • Check the project index for a full list

The history of the Xen.org community and Xen hypervisor project can be read on the Xen history page. If you are new to Xen.org or want to learn more please read the New to Xen Guide
